Chris
Aww, this reminds me of the good old days... *dreams* How did you create that thing? Did you use a readymade script for it, or did you create the DOOM-ish 3d engine by yourself?
FjordGames
Oh, that takes me back. I loved those RPGs. I don't have much time to spare, but I would love to help you out. One note on the graphical presentation though: I am really into retro games and those often live from their pixelated look. Your UI seems a bit blurry and I would suggest fully embracing the retro look and going for an edgier display. Is this antialiased or directly baked into your artwork? Chris
It seems to be scaled up and thus blurry. We had a discussion open here on how to keep sharp edges when scaling stuff.
jucarave
@Chris: i thought about how to make this engine about a year ago, but i never really dare to make it until recently, but i did the engine from scratch (don't even know if is the best way to do the render, but it seems to work ) @FjordGames: Yeah actually i thought that would be a problem too, the base sprite is 191*141, but is scaled by 2 on the game, and again all the game is scaled to fit the screen... So yeah, it looks blurry i'll see what can i do about that @Chris: Thanks i will look to that post, maybe i find something interesting.
