mfdesigner
I'd like to share my experience in creating realistic ocean. This scene below is created using oTakhi Platform (three.js).The ocean is made of 12 Gerstner travelling waves with dynamic reflection mapping. I will post a full tutorial video when refraction mapping is complete. Elements in this scene include skybox, fog, wave generation in vertex shader, dynamic reflection and static normal mapping in fragment shader, and lens flare. Comments and critics welcome. battlesnake
I wish I had a more powerful laptop, that looks beautiful (even at 2fps). The lens flare doesn't appear for me, but that's probably due to lack of hardware support at my end.
mfdesigner
This runs fine on my custom-built desktop which is at least 6 year old. CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz with 8192MB Ram (Released on Jan 2007)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 2400MB (currently sold for $59) GPUs on most tablets, phones are at least 3 generations behind that of the desktops, perhaps that's why games on mobile phones are still mostly 2D sprite based.
