Hey everyone, here is a game I have had for a while now smile.png Its been complete with an update of new levels and new features.

Sorlo: The Platformer Wizard is a new puzzle game where you have to make it through the levels as fast as possible to gain a higher score. Collect keys to open doors and survive levels with magic and trolls!

Here are the links:

Controls:

PC

Arrow Keys to move.

Z key is the action key. Used for shooting magic once acquired and opening doors.

Mobile-

Arrow keys to move

Biggest key is the action key.

I am aware of a small lag when the player jumps, this is what limits my game on HTML5 but I have been hunting down a fix for it.

Comments made which emphasize a change:

  • Change the action key from Z to Spacebar.
  • Change the background to a lighter or darker colour.

Comments, feedback and constructive criticism is welcome. biggrin.png

Cool game but I have somethings to point out:

  • A lot of times the jump seems to not respond very well, especially on small platforms while running at the same time, which is pretty annoying. (It could be a case of when the jump actually executes my player is in the air because im running at the same time or my jump executes a frame before me actually landing - Platform games I have developed I usually have a buffer of 1 to 2 frames before and after standing on the ground to check for a jump, just to make the experience a lot more responsive)
  • Shooting is not that responsive either. I understand that it's probably a design decision but it make it feel pretty sluggish.
  • I would agreed on darkening or recolor the background a bit.
  • Pretty unusual that the level never really resets which makes the game a lot easier.
  • Haven't tried it on mobile yet but it feels like 30 fps on pc. (Games that need responsive controls should try to go for 60)
  • Gotta say this level is pretty irritating, makes me run through the whole level just to make a really hard jump - http://puu.sh/9TqSO/9e941ab3e1.png

Otherwise I think it's pretty solid game.

I have made responses to each inside the quote  :)

This is part of the 'lag' which is experience when jumping, a fix is needed for it and I am still looking into it.

Shooting does have a timer set to execute to make it more realistic :P Just so that you don't shoot too multiple at the same time.

Thank you, I appreciate the backing of the idea

Part of he design :) The game is challenging enough, otherwise player rages would come off very common :P

Ahhh yes, this has a low frame rate on mobile devices but not as a .apk. The fix I mentioned before is the advantage, once I find the fix, the mobile versions fps will greatly increase. I have tested a version without the code that makes the game lag and put more simple code in with some animations and it ran a lot more smoother! The only problem was that it caused multiple other bugs. So a correct and final fix is needed.

Haha, it's part of the challenge :P

Otherwise I think it's pretty solid game.

Thank you for the feedback! As always I have made notes of it so I can improve it! I really appreciate it.
