rich
Here's another one http://beta.mightyfingers.com/ It seems to be an editor based engine, i.e. you set it all up via the editor. Anyway it's a free download to check it out. Would be curious to know what people here think of it, especially the claim about being the fastest possible (all I could see was a demo game of Snake, which is hardly going to tax even the slowest of computers). Chris
Huh? They have a couple of demos here: http://mightyfingers.com/engine-demo/
rich
There was no link to that from the beta site!
Chris
Haha my first thought was: boring page! What happens when I remove the subdomain?
rich
I've seen this before now you linked to those demos. Was still a little shocked at how much (pretty complex looking) code was needed just for a snake game. But nothing wrong with devs having choice. Mike
Don't know by the engine but i shure love the graphics of the 2d minecraft clone. The RIP thumbstone remindsme of worms.
PixelPicoSean
I always think a powerful IDE saves lots of time, but I only prefer one that can be used with the engine I choose.Well I mean a general IDE can be easily intergraded, which is more than a level editor and less than C2/GameMaker...Is there any choice like this? I'm trying to make one, but don't have any ideas after deciding to use Ember.js for the development .
soybean
I recognize MightyFingers some several months ago in search of html5 game engines. I thought it was a dead project, but good thing they were still cooking it up to become MightyEngine.
Tenjou
Hello, i'm one of the developers at MightyFingers. About complexity - we're striving to create the most common tools built in the engine, and it comes with a cost - as to learn to use them and in the first can look over complex. Reason shows on larger projects (larger than snake demo) but we will create even simpler tutorials, where is used minimum set of tools from MightyEngine. We want it to be fastest prototyping platform too, so if you have suggestions what tools you need the most or what changes in workflow will make you more productive i'd be more than glad to hear.
