p11
Hi all, I'm new here and this is my first post. Around 2004 to 2012, I used to make flash games and sometimes licensed them to sites like miniclip, also hosting my own games on my own website, running AdSense banner ads that barely paid for the hosting, mostly the site brought in contract work from people looking to have flash games or websites made. I also worked for a company making online casino games in flash, but when flash was dying I jumped ship to Unity, and worked in game adjacent fields as a freelancer making apps. 10 years later and I'm completely out of the web games loop, with no idea how the new business models work now. Anyway, I recently made a game in vanilla javascript that runs in Canvas2D. It's a word puzzle that sits somewhere between Wordle, Scrabble and Sokoban. It appeals to a small demographic who enjoy unapologetically difficult puzzles because I believe the market for difficult puzzle games is underserved in this post-candycrush world. I love making games and do it for fun, but the whole monetisation aspect I do not enjoy, that part feels like work and I have a bad habit of abandoning games at this stage, the word puzzle game has been collecting dust for several months already, but the recent Unity debacle has renewed my interest in releasing it properly. I'm really just here looking for advice on monetisation, marketing and deployment from those who are still working in web games. Ideally I would like to keep the game on my own site so that I can continue to update it with new levels etc. Any advice would be appreciated, or if someone with more current experience is interested in partnering up to handle the monetisation & publishing of my game and willing to do it for revshare, I'm open to that idea too. I don't want to publicly release the word game until the monetisation aspect is finished, and its 100% client side javascript at the moment which is trivial to copy and paste, so in lieu of a link to the word game and as a thank you for reading this whole post, here's an unrelated boxing game with janky physics that I threw together back when Unity WebGL was still new: https://p11.games/legless/ I suppose that game could use some monetisation help as well. Solserv
I am html5 game developer, I had experience in placing ad unit in html5 game. The current ad monetization has in game ad placements like on pause button or next level button etc. If you contact me, I will provide assistance on ad placements. The monetization then can be done in html5 game as it JavaScript enabled. I just need to check the possibility with unity based game. The phones won't support webgl. And playing games on smartphones has more possibilities than playing PCs. Please DM me. Regards Solserv
