Wavertron
http://ezpaintsoftware.com/I've been playing around with EZ Paint. Its a free paint program, inspired by good old MS Paint with some improvements and more powerful tools .It has some nice features like gradient and texture fills, png and transparency support. The interface is a little quirky sometimes so its take a little practice. And it can do some really nice looking shaded font text with ease. Really handy, and Pixel Art-focused. I also love the animation features. Another really useful tool I found out is Audacity. Which is free. I use it mostly to compress my song files - from 1.5 Mo to 250 ko, as example.
