took me a good 5 minutes to grasp the rules and even so, didn't manage to complete an easy level  i like the concept, though.

the rules should be introduced as an overlay on top of the game, perhaps in an tutorial level. this would imply to have levels, which i would suggest to implement. levels would grant a sense of progression. you may use the existing setup as a daily random challenge.

i would suggest to start with smaller boards (3x3), i think it would be easier to understand the rules.

also, the rules are complementary, so i'd also suggest, for the easy levels, to have the first set of rules (top-left) and for the normal the whole set of rules. essentially, cater to a wider audience (casual - i want to click some stuff and not stress my brain, hardcore - i really want to make my brain hurt).
