JCPalmer
I was actually planing at some point to publish creating GIF files directly from scenes. I am still trying to get the transparency working, but here is a small loop from a scene. I tried to add this as an avatar for here, but as you can see only the first frame is there. There is someone's that actually works. Anyone know how to do this?
HeadClot
I think @joshcamas Did something similar to what you were doing. Maybe he could chime in?
JCPalmer
Ok, the transparency is fixed. I can see many many applications for this, especially if GitHub readme.md files can use them as images. From an avatar perspective, @rich might know when this will work. Maybe only when someone references Twitter and they have a grandfather gif as an avatar?
joshcamas
I don't remember having a gif avatar, sadly
aWeirdo
Looks like a thumb image is generated from your upload, it probably doesn't support multi-frame gifs
JCPalmer
There is one user, @Sophie C, whose is working, so it is supported here. I actually grabbed her file, and briefly set mine to her file and it worked. I then tried making mine be her size, but still never got it to not convert. Kind of ran out of time, but I have not forgotten this.

aWeirdo
@JCPalmer Odd indeed.. Have you tried reducing the number of frames in the gif? the one's which are working seems to have rather few frames.. could be some kind of limit, dono otherwise.. JCPalmer
In the middle of something. First thing I am going to try is to center the butterfly better. Needs to be done anyway, but maybe some pixel gets modified outside the circle on a frame, so it just uses one frame only.
JCPalmer
Did a quickie move camera away & re-record with a very tiny butterfly. It was well within the circle mask. Did not help.
