Serapth
Hello All, I run the site GameFromScratch.com, which among other things... contains tutorials and tutorial series on using a variety of languages and game engines. Just here to announce that I've recently started a BabylonJS Tutorial Series. All entries in the series have both text and video versions. As of right now the series is quite small consisting of: Series Introduction Getting Started Cameras There is also an introduction/review/overview I did a while back as part of the Closer Look game engine series. The next two tutorials on are on lighting and materials, and where we should continue on from there, how long depends entirely on popularity. I will at the very least cover all of the basics. Right now these tutorials should be suitable for someone with Javascript ability but no prior Babylon or game development experience. Of course feedback and suggestions are always appreciated! Hope these are useful to some of you. Wingnut, DigiHz Data, Ozeki and 2 others
Wingnut
Excellent, Serapth! I have added your site to the BJS Offsite Tutorials List (public editable source). Feel free to adjust that document, Serapth. I made it a single link, but you/I/others can create a table of separate links later, as wanted. Thanks for making tutorials! Very cool! Serapth
Awesome, thanks for the link Wingnut. With the holidays in the middle, the series was slow to update, but I've added a new tutorial on Lights with one on StandardMaterial to follow very shortly. The lighting tutorial covers creating a Spot and Point light, as well as a small snippet on using ActionManager. Wingnut
davrous
Thanks @Serapth for your support! You could even improve them by linking your samples code running into our playground. For instance using this type of URL as an iframe: http://www.babylonjs-playground.com/frame.html#IRVAX#0 like in our documentation: http://doc.babylonjs.com/tutorials/Lights Any way, thank you again to spread the babylon.js message. David Sounds good, when I finish up the series, I'll try to publish the code into the sandbox and clean things up a bit. Thanks for the heads up. Serapth
Perhaps the slowest tutorial series progress I have ever had... but finally published another text tutorial, this one on exporting and using Blender models in Babylon. http://www.gamefromscratch.com/post/2017/02/06/BabylonJS-Tutorial-Series-3D-Models.aspx Wingnut
