jdurrant
I'm having some issues with transparency. I don't know how to upload babylon files to the playground, so I've posted a demo that shows my problem on my own site: https://durrantlab.com/tmp_files/transparency/ I have a mesh (exported from blender) that looks fine when it's 100% visible. But at even 99% visibility, the are strange holes in it. The problem doesn't seem to be related to backface culling. Any help you could offer would be very appreciated! Thanks. ~Jacob
GameMonetize
Hello this is because there is no face sorting. What you need is pretty tough to do even on modern devices. You need sort-independent alpha blending: http://www.gdcvault.com/play/535/Sort-Independent-Alpha We do not support it in babylonjs (mostly because webgl is not powerful enough)
BitOfGold
meshesByName["surf"].material.alphaMode = BABYLON.Engine.ALPHA_ADD; meshesByName["surf"].material.alpha = 0.5 Maybe not the look that you wanted, but better.
jdurrant
Thanks for your help, Deltakosh and BitOfGold. BitOfGold, you're right that that's not exactly what I had in mind, but the effect isn't bad at all. I'll go ahead and use that one. All the best!
