It's important to me because as far as I understand the method of animation also defines what you can and can't do with your animations and comes with different capabilities and restrictions. Correct me if I'm wrong. 7 hours ago, JohnK said: Some more questions for you. How far on are you with your 3D game idea? Have your drawn the characters you will use in 2D? Have you described the game in writing and with drawings? What 3D animation packages have you researched? Sound like you want to produce a professional game, have you looked at paid packages? Have you explored animation forums (if they exist)? The actual 3D characters and content will be taken care of at a later stage, the game concept doesn't rely on 3D animations so I'm able to make progress without them. In other words the 3D animations won't impact the game's functionality but they'll be a very nice addition. I haven't researched any 3D animation packages, frankly I don't even know where to start. I want to produce a professional game (although probably not what you have in mind), however at the moment I'd prefer to use free software if possible. Wouldn't the free Blender be able to answer my needs? If not, what functionality that it doesn't have should I be looking for? Up until this moment I wasn't aware I should be exploring anything, I was just trying to understand how to deal with 3D animations in BJS, which turned out to be a complex subject. I don't think it's that complex but it's much more complex than I had initially hoped for (I had very optimistic hopes) Thanks for the links, I'll read them thoroughly as soon as I have some time.
