BillyDB
I have a finished game originally designed for mobile but was hoping to get a decent version on html. It works but the loads times are long. Maybe around a minuet. It's not a small game, I think around 65mb, so is it waste of time going the html route without massivly optimising or are people willing to handle that amount of delay? Thanks
BobF
A one minute page load wait is a long time, but if the website makes the game appear very appealing then you may be able to get visitors to try it. I don't know what your revenue model is, but 65MB of content could get a little expensive to deliver if the game becomes popular. You might to want to consider something like providing the website visitor with a smaller piece of the game (e.g., a single scene) for free and use that to drive people to buy the full desktop and/or mobile app.
BillyDB
Thanks that sounds about right. I might try and chop it up a little
DexterZ
Whether games on desktop, mobile, web don't load all the assets on one go for huge games, after finishing a level or moving on next area, unload the previous assets and load the assets needed on for the next level, dungeon or area, etc... ^_ ^ y Kyros2000GameDev
