Android tablet 4.3: WebGL - does't work(blinking screen only in chrome); Canvas - 5 FPS. Android 6, 7 - WebGL 40-60 fps. Iphone 5s and se: WebGL 20-30 fps. Canvas slowly Ipad pro: all modes work good. Desktop - all modes work perfect This is incredibly glib, you can't go quoting 2018 and then saying that the performance on 5 and 6 year old devices is terrible. I've seen some incredible tech demos with webGL on new devices (i.e. a year or so old, max) and there are more and more real use-case webGL powered games filtering into the mobile market. Igor Georgiev
Phaser is indeed a bit slugish with older devices, but it offers the complete package and that is normal. If you want something faster on old devices - use pixi and write everything you need yourself. Then you would have a tailored app for your needs.
