b10b
As part of a 48 hour game jam (OrcaJam based in Victoria, BC, Canada) I took the plunge and made my first Html5 game. "Super Sushi Shefu" a basic platformer with shooting styled as 8 Bit retro for expedience. http://b10b.com/orcajam4/html5/ I enjoyed the process of making the game, knowing that it would work without plugins and help me think beyond Flash or App. I developed using Haxe + OpenFL + awe6, so was also able to output other formats too, but my focus was on Html5. I found the sound format compatibility to be a challenge, needing to generate both oggs and mp3s, with conditonal code to trigger the correct asset. I also found that performance (of canvas) varied considerably on each browser. Chrome and Firefox seemed good. New challenges, and interesting as a result. I look forward to making more Html5 games, tapping into WebGL and gesture controls.
powerfear
There is a bug, if you touch the top of the map while spamming jump and going left or right you will be able to keep jumping forever while at the top of the map. To reproduce go on a tall building so you can jump high enough to touch the top of the map, then just spam jump and hold your right arrow key. cheapdevotion
The HTML5 version of the game didn't work for me. I am using the latest Chrome on Windows, but all I got was a white screen with the play button, followed by the first line of text from the into. The SWF played just fine. Overloaded
I'm also using the latest version of Chrome on Windows and it works just fine...The game looks nice though, it would be awesome if you made it a bit longer... the gameplay is short, although that's understandable, since this is made for a Game Jam. Kolba
I like the humour of the game, I laughed during the intro and game over screens. The framerate is pretty low on my desktop running Chrome, and the gameplay suffers as a result. What FPS did you get during testing?
Psychho
Awesome game you should add some leaderboards though since theres not much to do.
matheusbn
The game runs without any problem here. (I'm using Chrome)! Very good for a 48h of development. One little issue, sometimes is hard to know what platform you can jump or not, but despite that, I liked! Matheus.
Eebs
It didn't work very well for me in Chrome either.
