mfdesigner
Here is a sample scene I recently created using oTakhi platform (based on three.js). It uses both lens flare and godrays post processing to achieve the end result. Drag to rotate camera around the willow which gives you 360 deg view of the effect. Critics welcome. mfdesigner
Here is a scene that uses a similar Godrays technique (with slight differences) for a large interior space such as a Cathedral. The sunrays come through the stained glasses of the side windows on both levels. Both the contrast and intensity of the godrays are adjustable. A video tutorial detailing how to achieve such effect will be released soon. mfdesigner
Finally, the same godrays effect applied to a cave. The effect filters and accompanying code were packaged up as a reusable component, as a result, it is very simple to apply to a completely different scene. All users need do is to adjust the sun's (a directional light) position.
mfdesigner
Here is the tutorial video for creating global godrays effect. This scene depicts the depth map generated for calculating the occlusion effect in the shader. https://youtu.be/gloOiGtUhQw
