Hello guys,

Few days ago i had a HUGE problem .. Waited few days but couldn't solve it so .. I need someone to help me out.

I tried to open Google but it didn't open ...  :o  But when i went to Google Drive (Something like Dropbox)  It worked fine .. (Google play too)

I tried Facebook and it didn't open .. Yahoo too .. Paypal and Ebay and many many other sites didn't open till now ..

I know a lot will tell me to use proxies or vpn's but i want to know why this happened .. Is there's a file on my computer preventing them from opening?  :(

Please reply ASAP.

Cheers,

Hadzy Hayman

Well what are you gonna do? try erasing all the browser history and cache maybe ?  idk , looks odd.. try another browser and see if the problem persists.

Okay, I'll try but i think it's not from that since i have tried another browser..

I once had a problem like this after editing my /etc/hosts file. Any chance you (or a program) changed it?

Can you tell me what to add/remove? I've seen an article on the net to scan that folder.

Try using OpenDNS. It look like DNS faliure.

Can you tell me how to?

So ?

Windows 7
  1. Click the Start, then select Control Panel.
  2. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click on your primary connection or Local Area Connection under Active Networks.
  4. Click the Properties button.

Windows 7 may prompt you for permission to make network setting changes.

  5. Highlight 'Internet Protocol Version 4' and click Properties.
  6. Click the radio button 'Use the following DNS server addresses:' and type 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields.
  7. Click OK button, then the Close button, then Close again. Finally, close the Network and Sharing Center window.

At this point, we highly suggest that you flush your DNS resolver cache and web browser caches to ensure that your new configuration settings take effect.

Windows XP
  1. Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Click Network Connections from the Control Panel choices.
  3. Choose your connection from the Network Connections window.

  4. Click Properties button.
  5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
  6. Click the radio button Use the following DNS server addresses and type 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields.
  7. Click OK
Windows Vista
  1. Click the Start Orb, then select Control Panel.
  2. Click on View network status and tasks.
  3. Click on View status.
  4. Click the Properties button.
  5. Vista may ask for your permission to make changes. If so, click the Continue button.
  6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click the Properties button.
  7. Click the radio button "Use the following DNS server addresses:" and type in OpenDNS addresses, 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields.
  8. Click the OK button, then the Close button, and the Close button again. Close the Network and Sharing Center window.
Mac OS X
  1. Go to System Preferences.
  2. Click on Network.
  3. Select the first connection in your list and click Advanced.
  4. Select the DNS tab and add 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 to the list of DNS servers.
  5. Click OK

See instructions for your operating system. If youtube is working, then I advice you to watch this-

After doing this, don't forget to restart both your computer and modem.

Oh you have same modem (or near) as me!

1. Goto- http://192.168.1.1

2. Then goto "Advanced Setup" from menu at left.

3. Next click DNS.

4. Select option- "Use the following Static DNS IP address:"

5. At Primary DNS server, enter- "208.67.222.222"

6. At Secondary DNS server, enter- "208.67.220.220"

7. Finally click "Apply/Save" button.

8. Now restart your modem.

By doing this you would successfully have OpenDNS as default DNS manager.

I did exactly what you said .. Still .. The problem still exists .. I think it's something from my PC not router.

Any suggestions?
