Jean-guy Leconte
I am rebuilding an old game of mine which was built in flash. Several parts of the game were very good but the meta game wasn't strong enough to retain players. Would it be better to take the concepts of this game redo it in html5 or would it be simpler to recode the flash and fix the issues therein? The issues with flash are many and I am not sure if going this way can work? Let me know what you guys think
d13
If your problems are very deep technical ones, I would throw it out and start over - either in HTML5 or Flash. If the problems are just game mechanics/logic/balance, I would work with what you already have.If you decide to continue working with Flash (which is still a good choice), consider the open-source version, openFL: http://www.openfl.org
Jean-guy Leconte
Thanks for taking time to answers, how hard is it to port from flash to openFL The changes I am considering are pretty big so most likely I will go for the recode option but I would love to keep the stuff that does work in place. I guess having a working example and a lot of the specifications predone will speed things up
