soybean
It is, especially the Asian part of the world. I'm not sure it's a cultural thing or not, but I'm Asian, lives in S.E.Asia and I don't use it intensely -- I guess I'm not mainstream Anyway, it's quite interesting that Kik is opening it's doors to developers. They introduce 'cards', which I believe allows HTML5 games to be played within the Kik app, cmiiw. Frankly it seems they're testing grounds, so no info on how to submit HTML5 games yet to Kik.
