  1. Apologies in advance if this isn't the appropriate forum to post! Please direct me to where I can post this if it isn't. Hello! We are a group of UX researchers at CircleCI trying to better understand the unique challenges and needs of game developers. If you have a few minutes, we would appreciate it if you could take our survey. You can submit your email at the end of the survey for a chance to enter a raffle to win a $150 e-gift card, but this is not necessary to participate. Results will be kept confidential and responses will only be shared internally within the UX Research team. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thank you! Link to the survey is below. Survey link: https://circleci.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6ApOwPOQFIonlT8
  2. Hi all! To shoot from the hip; I'm writing my master thesis about knowledge sharing in online communities for game developers. My research tries to answer the following question; "what motivates game developers to freely share their knowledge within online communities?". The eventual goal of the research is to provide moderators with tangible answers on how to set-up the community in a way that best serves it's users (you). I'm looking for members that are willing to share their thoughts and expertise about sharing knowledge on html5gamedevs.com with me during an interview of approx 1 hour via Skype. To give you an idea of the questions you can expect: "What do you like about game development?" and "What kind of knowledge do you share?". It's not necessary to speak English, chat is sufficient as well. Besides infinite karma points you would really help out moderators to improve your user experience If you're interested or like to receive more info please add me on Skype: joep.van.duinen or send me an e-mail via [email protected]. Thanks in advance for taken it into consideration and looking forward to get in touch! Cheers from Amsterdam, Joep PS: everything you might disclose during the interview will be fully confidential and not shared without your approval.
  3. Hello all, My colleagues and I from the Illinois Institute of Technology are conducting a research study to develop a measure of prior videogame experience (PVGE), intended to help develop and use learning games. Currently, we are trying to link situational and dispositional factors with PVGE through an online survey to validate the new scale. Please help us with the research by participating in this brief and confidential survey, approved by the university's institutional review board. The link is provided: https://iitresearchrs.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6qZvi2oTDyXwbYN I would be glad to answer any questions or concerns. Thank you!
  4. Hello,I’m a student at the Illinois Institute of Technology and I’m looking for your help. We are conducting an online research study to develop a measure of game experience, and we are currently looking for input from game developers on game definitions. I was hoping you would be willing to take part in the study by responding to our survey. The survey should take no more than 15 minutes of your time, and your answers to the survey are fully confidential. There is no compensation for participation. I would be more than happy to provide you further details or answer any questions on this post. The link to the survey is given below. Your participation would be immensely appreciated. You would be making a great contribution to science about videogames; in fact, this research may contribute to more effective game design and development because there are few holistic measures of game experience and a general lack of agreement on the "proper" way to classify games (as the notions surrounding game genres and types change across time, space, and culture). Thank you!Link: https://iitresearchrs.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5pZK3z7ZkG9AQsZHow would you go about classifying a game you developed? Best,Green
