This is a project that I have been working on for a year or so. It is a game development studio equipped with a pixel paint editor, map editor, code editor, game engine, store, and message board. It is even possible to edit the source code of the app via a built in editor. My motivation for creating this is to create a tool that I can use to create my games and share with others. Something like Mario Maker. This project is written 100% in JavaScript and uses Electron as a platform to run. Francois DIY was once a web site but due to network lag and downtime I made it native. Anyways, would like to share and maybe have level built for me! Access online: http://www.francoisdiy.com Video of Project in Action:

Hello gamedevs community, After watching so many of you publish games I can finally post my first game in this showcase as well: Kung Fu Clicker ! "Can you climb the mysterious tower to the top and prove yourself to be the most worthy Kung Fu master? Defeat the elementals, collect their essences and keep climbing. Complete quests along the way to upgrade your character in the shop and finally reach the highest floor of the tower!" Game link: http://browsergameshub.com/KungFuClicker/ Kung Fu Clicker is a browser game optimized for mobile by solely using touch (or click) inputs. On a desktop browser however, you can also use the arrow keys. The game controls are simple: Tap left / right to attack, block and jump in the desired direction. Collect the essences in the order displayed on the screen (from left to right) by blocking the attacks of the corresponding elemental. You block an attack by attacking an elemental that is already charging towards you. Punch the other elementals before they start charging at you! After each successful collection of essences, you climb to the next level by jumping up the ledges. Beware however, as the ledges fall down shortly after you touched them! I don't want to give too much away because that's part of the game: to learn and improve as you play along. There is a short and simple tutorial in the game, however, to get you started. You can come back and continue playing anytime by the way, the game uses local storage to save your quests' progress and all purchases in the shop. I've had a lot of fun creating this small game and I'm already working on a new title, which I am excited to post here again in the coming weeks. Have fun playing and let me know what you think! Don't hold back on the critics, I know this is an amateur game but any feedback is appreciated so I can improve P.S.: A couple side notes / questions: - I would love to licence this game to a publisher but since this is my first game and I'm a newcomer, I am scared Kung Fu Clicker has still written amateur all over it. Also, I'd assume I need to approach a publisher with a package of games instead of just one simple one like this. With this said, if you are a publisher or know someone where I could legitimately make a good impression with this, let me know! Meanwhile the game is also playable on gamejolt (desktop only): http://gamejolt.com/games/kung-fu-clicker/194699 - I am a terrible artist. The characters, elementals, objects and interface have been designed by me. The backgrounds have been designed by my girlfriend. Thanks to her help the game looks a lot better than it would just drawn by myself. I am looking for an artist who doesn't charge too much for future games, though. I'm not trying to rip-off talented artists by being cheap but I just can't afford a top notch reputable designer at this point. Maybe a student out there who would like to get in touch with me? Hit me up on twitter @thejamespierce . - Lastly, thank you for reading this post and checking out my game

Hello I plan to make doodle jump game but it required the phone to orientate in order to control the doodle. I use Game Maker to develop it. Can the mobile web browser support it? I read somewhere only hybrid app can detect the phone orientation but mobile web browser cant support it. Is it true? I need to be sure about it

Hi there everyone, my name is Alena. I'm interested in trying to learn Phaser to replace Game Maker, due to how many bugs I keep running into in Game Maker. Also because Phaser appears to be faster and more optimized to make games for mobile. Is this true? And if so why? I've seen this website: http://www.lessmilk.com/phaser-tutorial/ Are there any other places with a more full course on learning Phaser. Thanks

Hey there, I recently sold a game to Spil Games and they've come across a problem. On quite a few mobile devices, when ever you click on a button which opens a new tab that links to their website. When you go back onto the game, it doesn't respond at all. I'm using url_open_ext in Game Maker to open the url. I'm thinking it has something to do with the devices blocking popups, which freezes the game somehow. So how do you open url's, without it thinking it's a popup? Any help is much appreciated. You can play it at: http://skymonsters.clay.io/ Best Regards, Andrew

Hi guys, I'm eager to make HTML5 games, I chose Game Maker Studio for it, but it's going to be an investment. Do you think that is better for me to buy the HMTL5 exporter before making my game or it will be better to buy it only when I have a solid interesting game? Does it make a difference having it (html5 exporter), during the development? Thanks.

I'd like to know if someone knows how well each of them is working on mobiles. I have some experience using Construct 2 and I find it really, really nice for development. Until now, I was not very involved in using html5 on mobiles/tablets and recently I just made a few tests with Construct2 on a few devices. I found it quite slow for just moving a few sprites on the screen. I'm just curious if someone can tell if this should be the expected behavior on mobiles for html5 or just construct2 is a little bit slow? Did anyone test both Game Maker and Construct 2 to make a comparison from the performance point of view on mobiles?

Hello everyone, I am a game developer with a strong focus on mobile games. I currently have 6 engines for HTML5 games built in Game Maker: Studio, later this month I am going to hire artists to do artwork for them, then after some minor polishing I would like to send out to to HTML5 publishers and offer a bulk discount on non-exclusive licenses. To start building bridges with HTML5 publishers, I sent my game Gridlock out as an experiment. I was fairly surprised with the results. I am currently in communication with 7 HTML5 sponsors regarding licensing it. If every agreement goes as planned, I will have made more money from game development this month than I did from going into my day job every day. If I achieve similar results with my game bundle, I think I will make enough to (comfortably) quit my day job. I have been using Game Maker since I was 8 years old and I've grown proficient enough with it to create high-quality games, but outside of GM I'm a fairly inexperienced programmer. I have a decent amount of experience with HTML5 and CSS, but I never got very far into JS or sadly HTML5. Several of the companies I'm in communication with have requested API Implementation. Admittedly, I expected this. I've heard the horror stories about it on Twitter, and it's a huge subject of interest in the Sponsors and Portals sub-forum. I've read about it in Matthew Bowden's book (which introduced me to the HTML5 market) but it only briefly touched on the subject. I've Googled it to death and understand the idea behind it, but it's still something of an enigma to me. I can't seem to find any solid information on API Implementation into HTML5 games built in Game Maker: Studio. I know it's a complicated and tedious process, that some developers charge portals for and I'm willing to learn how to do it. I just can't find a solid resource on the subject. From what I understand, I need to create an Extension in Game Maker that will read JS functions. I just can't find a clear resource on how to do so. Any links, or advice would be appreciated. It might literally change my life. Thanks in advance!
