rainbowshrimp
Hi, I am looking to collaborate on a game. I have worked as a developer professionally for three years working with technologies such as javascript, node.js, react, angular, ionic, and swift. I've always been interested in games and built my own personal games with frameworks like phaser and spritekit. I am opened to any game idea, but I do have a personal preference towards roguelike(lites) and role playing games. here is a link to my github if you want to check out my codehttps://github.com/rainbowshrimp Cheers Dread Knight
Dread Knight
Heya! I have a free open source game project. It's using phaser, so it's browser based. You can think of it as a more advanced/strategical Pokemon battle game, since I noticed quite a few repositories related to it in your profile. It's a turn based strategy, with RPG elements (mostly based on Heroes of Might and Magic 3, combined with chess and mobas). You can find the official website over here https://AncientBeast.com - there's a prototype, but still broken until the next version is released, in about 2 weeks. Could really use more coding help (javascript and node.js in the future). The repo is https://github.com/FreezingMoon/AncientBeast - let me know if you have any questions. Also, feel free to drop by our chat page ~ https://gitter.im/FreezingMoon/AncientBeast Regards, Vali

The artwork is amazing too. I put a lot of time, energy, love and even money into it, big thanks, seeker! The creatures will eventually be animated http://ancientbeast.com/viewer Feel free to subscribe to the newsletter, as I'll make an announcement when the new version will be ready and I'll be beta-testing it with whoever willing, by using desktop sharing and taking turns using the mouse/keyboard. Tested the old version with dozens of people like that, but it's been a while, so I'm really looking forward to properly playing the new version, almost there ^^ Subscription widget over here http://ancientbeast.com/#subscribe
RenStimpyShow
the Animated Beast Viewer looks fantastic! May I ask, how did you make the models in the first place? Via 3D Max? I'm very interested to learn more on the art side.

It wasn't done by me, about 3 skilled artists worked on it. I'm a pretty proficient organic 3d modeled myself, but when it comes to the project, usually looking to work with people that are specialized in a certain area and do it really well, as I'm wearing too many hats myself... time and energy are limited and things tend to change fast in some fields. Anyway, for the project I'm working with quite a few people, basically anyone that pleases, as it's open source after all, that's the whole point. We're building a huge library/repository of original characters using blender 3d, all available for whatever purpose you want, under CC-by-SA 3.0. I'm talking 50+ characters. Personally I think 3d Studio Max is kinda crappy and can't really hold a candle for blender (I've learned and used most 3d packages myself). I think it's important to have a low entry barrier for making / viewing / using the models. Even if the project is underground, I'm constantly bumping into various project creatures online on various websites. Only requirement is to credit/link the project (and ideally artists involved if possible); if the work is derived, also sharing it under the same license. We have quite a lot of creature artwork. 3d artists see the stuff and take a swing at modeling one or more units, for various reasons. Quite a few units modeled so far, but I'm hoping to get some funding next year to make sure everything is going like clockwork regarding 3D modeling and animation.
